There are many ways you can help us out at the club and we are always looking for new volunteers:ScoringThis vital activity is a challenge of dexterity, concentration and organisation. To be a good scorer knowledge of cricket’s basic rules is essential. You need to keep your concentration for long periods of time. You also have the task of promptly updating the scoreboard and scorebook. Learning to score is not a hard task and there's always another scorer with you to aid you. Scoring is a vital part of the game, is a very important official responsibility and can be very rewarding when done well. At this club we pay a generous rate to our scorers for their time and effort. Tea ServingCricket just wouldn't be cricket without tea and therefore we need people to help at the tea interval. The tea server’s responsibility is to pour tea and sell the food to the very grateful players. This is done on a voluntary basis and often carried out by the players’ partners or mums but any willing volunteer is most welcome! If you want to help out with serving tea for our club we would be very keen to hear from you. UmpiringAlthough as a club we don't have the authority to appoint umpires for official games - that is the league’s responsibility - we can point you in the right direction for finding out more information. Coaches/HelpersOur ever increasing number of young players means that we are always on the look-out for helpers. Youth practice night is Wednesday but there are league games for different age groups held throughout the week and any help will be gratefully accepted. We would be pleased to help anyone who would like to train to become a qualified cricket coach although you don’t have to be qualified to help us out. Help is required for transporting children to and from matches, scoring or just general supervision. N.B. this may be subject to CRB clearance in line with Clubmark.
