Camel Racing
Friday, 9th May 2003

A race night with a difference was held at the club on 9th May.  The evening included optional Arab fancy dress.  Instead of the typical television replays of horse racing, bids were made to be the owner of a camel which was in the form of headgear.   The 6 camels then "raced" round a track, moving according to which colour ball they picked out of a bag.  Landing on an oasis meant answering a camel themed question. A correct answer allowed the camel in question to send another camel back to the last oasis whereas an incorrect answer sent the answering camel back.  Bets on the winner were made in each race and a good time was had by all - see photos.
