Our host for the evening:

Michael Britcliffe
Mr Michael Britcliffe

Awards presented by
Mr Rowland Scott

Rowland Scott

In 1944 Mr Scott played 4 times for Ribblesdale Wanderers First XI at the age of 14.  He was the regular opening bat from 1949 until he retired in 1966 and he captained the team from 1959 to 1961.  In 1963 he was a member of the last championship side.  Mr Scott represented the league on 3 occasions and in 1964 he topped the league averages with 606 runs and an average of 43.28.
During his time in the first team he was involved in two record partnerships - in 1959 he and Malcolm Dennet recorded an unbroken 108 against Clitheroe and in 1962 he and Keith Weaver opened with 189 runs which is probably still a record at the club for 2 amateurs.
In his time, Mr Scott notched up 1 century and 27 fifties for Ribblesdale Wanderers First XI.
